Welcome ~
To a lovely oceanfront retreat on the Annapolis basin five minutes from Digby. We are open year-round. Three Star Canada Select rating. Rose Wind Cottage offers a secluded three-quarter acre landscaped lot with a private beach. It's blissfully quiet.

Some of the highest tides in the world are right at your doorstep. The landscape around you changes from minute to minute as the tides ebb and flow.

Cottage rooms are bright and sunny and finished with polished pine flooring throughout; antique and contemporary decor, two bedrooms (queen and twin), dining room, living room with sectional sofa, fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms (one half bath downstairs and one full upstairs), and two outside decks both within a few feet of the shoreline.

A comfortable swing on the front deck provides a panoramic view of the Annapolis Basin, Digby Gut, and fabulous sunsets. The patio dining set on the back deck overlooks the tidal flats of Bear River - a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast while you watch the herons wade the shoreline.

The dining room overlooks the Annapolis Basin and Digby Gut. Every window in the cottage has a view of the water.

The cottage is extremely well maintained and immaculately clean.

All the comforts ~
Rose Wind is fully winterized and equipped with modern plumbing. A linen service is provided. Additional features include full size washer and dryer, satellite TV, VCR, movies, books, games, barbeque and a fire pit overlooking the ocean. The kitchen includes full size stove and fridge, microwave, coffee maker and all the cooking utensils you need.

Pamper yourself ~
Snuggle down under the quilts and let the call of the loons and the murmur of waves lull you to sleep. The master bedroom features a beautiful hand embroidered quilt. There are lots of extra pillows and as well as a fold out cot for a fourth guest.

Greet the morning ~
Make breakfast whenever you please and take it out to the back deck where you can watch the shorebirds - herons, loons, bald eagles, cormorants, ducks, kingfishers, gulls and hummingbirds. Binoculars and a bird guide are provided.

See the sights ~
Take the stairs to your private beach and drift for miles along the shoreline. This is a great spot for beachcombing….shells, stones, bits of old pottery, starfish and other interesting surprises. You can also dig your own clams or, if you're quick, you can walk to Bear Island and back at low tide. Rose Wind is also close to whale watching tours, the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, Fort Anne and Port-Royal, the Upper Clements Theme Park, restaurants, deep-sea and fresh water fishing, golf, hiking, kayaking and fine art and craft shops.

Seasonal Treats ~
The months of September and October offer warm sunny days and cool nights. Mid-October paints the landscape in brilliant fall colors of red, orange and gold - a stunning view from the cottage. Rose Wind is close to a number of parks that offer excellent hiking and cross country skiing trails. This is also a lovely area for biking.

Indulge ~
You can buy fresh lobster, scallops, clams and mussels in nearby Digby. Put them on the barbeque and enjoy some of the best eating you've ever had.

Feel Pampered ~
You won't have to shop for food as soon as you arrive. The kitchen is stocked with basic food items and your first breakfast items will be provided at no cost (bacon, eggs, milk, cereal, butter, tea, coffee and the occasional box of fresh berries from the owners garden).

Relax ~
Sit back on the deck and watch the sunset, curl up with a good book or watch a little television. Better yet, build a cliff-side bonfire and watch the falling stars.
